Active Labour Preparation

These sessions are tailored to prepare your body for labour.

My vision is for you to enter labour with confidence, feeling grounded and connected with your body and baby.

My Active Labour Prep sessions will familiarise you with a range of birth tools and strategies, when to use them, and how they may assist you and your baby through labour. I will then work with you to build your own personalised ‘birth circuit’.

Some of the birth tools and strategies include:

  • Fit ball/s

  • the Cub@ (birth stool)

  • Rebozo: ways and techniques

  • Massage for labour  

  • Active labour positions   

  • Optimal Maternal Positioning (OMP)

  • Putting it all together: ‘build your own birth circuit’.

Along the way, I’ll be sharing my wisdom and experience as a Doula. These sessions provide a safe place to talk about your pregnancy journey and upcoming labour experience.

Everything that you’ll learn in these sessions, you’ll be taking home in the form of an information pack for continuing practice and reference.

The details:

  • Time: 1 hour

  • When: Any time from 37 weeks until you go into spontaneous labour.

  • Who: Your first session will be 1 on 1, you and me. subsequent sessions with your partner or birth support person can be arranged if desired.

  • How many/often: Weekly sessions are recommendable or else a one off if suits too.

  • Where: For these doula sessions we’ll be using the spaces available at my cozy home-biz studio.
